-- General Information --
This is my submission for JamCraft 5:

https://itch.io/jam/jamcraft5

The theme was Alien and/or Expire - and of course the game must have some sort of crafting mechanics.

I implemented both themes and crafting/combining as well.

Even though the game runs in the browser, I recommend to download the Windows version for better performance and experience.

-- Controls --
The controls are explained in the game.

-- Story --
When Allen the Alien was passing Earth, he experienced problems with his spaceship and had to make an emergency landing.

Help Allen to repair his spaceship so that he can continue his journey.

-- Gameplay and Goal --
The goal of the game is to repair the spaceship. To do this you have to collect resources. Using gems you can upgrade your pickaxe in order to collect all the resources needed.

Once you use a gem on your pickaxe it will lose its power over time.

Try different gem combinations!

-- Post-Jam Update --

  • Chunk system added for dynamic map loading
  • Display amount of items in inventory available when crafting
  • Decreased amount items needed for crafting
  • FPS counter added (F9 show/hide)
  • Custom mouse cursor added
  • Bugfix: flickering lines between tiles fixed

Very cool idea! It joins all the jam ideas and lets you progress getting upgrades. A lot of polish can be seen in this game, the way it teaches the controls and its mostly frictionless movement.

Overall nice work!
